About true canine

over 25 years of experience in the dog-care and behaviour industry

Ryan White is the founder of True Canine Training, bringing over 25 years’ experience in dog care, behaviour, education and welfare.

He has worked extensively with local authorities, rescues and complex behavioural cases, including reactive and “last-chance” dogs, where safety and long-term welfare are critical.

Ryan’s approach is welfare-led and multi-method — adapting training to the individual dog, the owner and their environment, rather than following a single system. His work is rooted in understanding why behaviour exists and creating fair, realistic solutions that last.

Alongside his practical work, Ryan spent 10 years teaching animal care and behaviour at college and university level, giving him a clear, supportive teaching style that helps owners truly understand their dogs.

how it works

Every training journey begins with a friendly Initial Consultation & Assessment with Ryan.

We offer in-person training across Norwich, Loddon, Beccles and Bungay.

During the session, Ryan will:

  • Observe your dog in their normal environment

  • Ask a few structured questions to really understand what’s going on

  • Learn about your dog’s history and daily routine

  • Identify key behaviours and challenges

  • Share helpful advice you can start using straight away

  • Recommend clear next steps, whether that’s a training package or a simple one-page action plan

The goal is to give you clarity, confidence, and a clear path forward for you and your dog.

Tess and her 7 month old labrador

“"Ryan has completely transformed our young Labrador. We were struggling with over-excitement and chaos, but Ryan showed us exactly what to do. Our pup is now calmer, more focused, and a joy to live with.”

Hayley and her rescue terrier

“Socks used to pull so hard on the lead that walks were stressful. After working with Ryan, he now walks calmly right beside me. Ryan’s guidance was kind, clear and genuinely life-changing.”
